Cultural Safety – Creating Spaces Where Everyone Feels They Belong

What is Cultural Safety?
Cultural safety is about ensuring that everyone—no matter their background—feels respected, valued, and welcome to join in.
Here’s what cultural safety can look like:
✨ Celebrating differences—whether it’s traditions, beliefs, or personal experiences.
🤝 Making everyone feel welcome, whether they’re new to the activity or lifelong participants.
🛠️ Keeping an open mind—being curious about others’ perspectives instead of making assumptions.
🌟 Creating fair environments where everyone has a chance to thrive.

💡 How you can protect your cultural safety:
- Be curious: Ask questions and listen to others’ experiences and beliefs without judgment.
- Speak kindly: Avoid jokes or comments that might make others feel uncomfortable.
- Pay attention: Notice what helps others feel welcome and supported—and do more of that!
- Step in: If you see someone being excluded or disrespected, offer your support.
When we focus on treating everyone with fairness and respect, we create a stronger, more connected community—and we all get more out of the experience.
Together, we’re building a better way to play.
